Attention: Current 6th, 7th and 8th graders!
Have you ever wanted to help your community but get stuck trying to figure out how?
Come spend a week with us, during the Helping Hands Service Camp, June 10–15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at Wilbur Pence Middle School.
This camp will be filled with fun and fulfilling service projects. We will help feed the hungry, make and deliver items to a local animal shelter, build and paint bookshelves for a local service group, and make blankets for people in need (just to name a few). We’ll even host a cleanup at the river, and of course, enjoy a splash or two ourselves! There are so many opportunities, we can’t list them all here, but we can guarantee it will be a great week if you join us!

Dear Parents & Families,
We're thrilled to introduce a new feature in our district app called Rooms! This platform is designed for seamless communication between staff and families, making it easier than ever to stay informed about school updates and activities.
As we roll out this new tool, we're starting with a small group of teachers, all spring sports coaches, and our Middle School and High School Principals.
While not all staff members will immediately transition to using Rooms as their primary communication tool, we're moving in that direction and aim to have full implementation by the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year.
Stay tuned for more information and resources as we continue the rollout. Effective communication is essential to our school community's success, and we're excited to embark on this journey with you through Rooms!
This week, students in the Wilbur S. Pence Middle School FCCLA chapter purchased items for the local area Angel Tree. Each year, FCCLA members have contributed to local area Angel Trees. This year, students partnered with the Town of Dayton through Heritage Real Estate, Thomas House Restaurant, and Pit Stop Automotive to purchase items for children ages 4-17 this holiday season. Items included bouncy balls, batman figures, card games, board games and more. Students also found a variety of Angel Tree wishes that were not toy related, toiletries and undergarments were requested by many children in our community. FCCLA is a service and leadership organization and students had a great time participating in this event, helping 17 children and families in total.
Character Counts Week is October 15-21, 2023. Each day, we will highlight the students who have been nominated for the Brittany Lam - Kelly Coggsdale Character Counts Award so far this year. We recognize the value of good character and its essential role in building strong communities that value positive, healthy relationships and respectful behavior. #CharacterCountsWeek
