It is beginning to feel more like fall! We had a short week, but still had plenty of activities going on at school! We appreciate all of the parents who came to parent-teacher conferences on Monday. We had a great turnout and are grateful for having such supportive parents at JWES! It takes all those at school and those at home working together to help students be successful!
We had a fantastic 4th grade Virginia history assembly on Thursday afternoon and evening! The students did a terrific job singing and dancing! We also want to thank Mr. Beau Dickenson for helping us honor our veterans who attended our program. The students presented those veterans in attendance with thank you cards and notes and even had special snacks for them to enjoy after the program! JWES students definitely appreciate the sacrifice all of the veterans have made for our country!
The 5th grade students had great weather for their field trip to New Market Battlefield. They had a wonderful time!
Next week, there is a PAC meeting on Thursday, November 17, at 6:30PM, in the library. Ms. Sue Haley will be presenting information on her pilot program using iPads in her classroom. Also, the school spelling bee will be on Friday, Nov. 18, at 9:00AM.
The PTA wanted to let everyone know that there was a mistake in the JagWire sent out last week. The Holiday Hop will be December 8, not December 10.
Also, the cafeteria will serve the Thanksgiving meal for lunch on Friday, November 18, which will include pumpkin pie, so no ice cream will be sold that day.
Enjoy the crisp, fall weather this weekend!
