We had a busy, but wonderful week last week! Spring pictures were taken on Tuesday, and students did a great job practicing the tornado drill. The second grade students had an outstanding performance for the school during the day and for the parents and families at night on Thursday. Special thanks goes to Mrs. Houff, Mr. Dishman, Mr. Rice, Mrs. Moyers, Mrs. Eckenrode, Mrs. Logan, Mrs. Haley, and Mr. Walling for their work with the students in getting them prepared for the program.
Tomorrow, March 25, is the PTA sponsored Family Fun Day from 10:00-2:00 at JWES. Come and enjoy playing games and eating food with your family and friends! It will be a terrific time!
The final PAC meeting of the school year will be held on Thursday, March 30, beginning at 6:30, in the library. Mrs. Craun will be presenting technology she uses in her classroom as part of her pilot she received this year. Dr. Oskar Scheikl, RCPS Director of Information Management, and Dr. Larry Shifflett, RCPS Director of Innovation and Learning, will also be present at the meeting to answer any questions parents have concerning technology and digital conversion for the county. I hope you will be able to attend.
I would like to congratulate Mrs. Ashley Bowman as JWES Teacher of the Year as voted on by the staff. Mrs. Bowman is an excellent teacher and will represent JWES in the RCPS Teacher of the Year sponsored by the Rockingham Educational Foundation.
I hope to see everyone tomorrow for the Dr. Seuss themed Family Fun Day!
