I hope the students have enjoyed their day off today! Teachers have been at school attending inservices and working hard!
Next week, kindergarten students will visit the Harrisonburg Children's Museum on Wednesday and Thursday, and second grade students will go to Bridgewater Retirement Home on Friday.
Just a reminder that Tuesday, March 14, is Pre-K and Kindergarten registration from 9:00-6:00. Parents will need to bring their student's birth certificate and proof of residency with them to register.
Also, the PAC meeting originally scheduled for March 16, has been moved to March 30, at 6:30 PM.

On Monday, March 13, all JWES students will attend a "One book-One school" assembly to introduce the book that all teachers will be reading aloud to the students each day, A Nest for Celeste by Henry Cole. Each week, students will be able to answer questions about the reading for a chance to receive an ice cream token. There will be a winner in each grade level each week during the time we are reading the book. Students will also be introduced to the wonderful vocabulary that will be displayed in the hallway and will be able to use QR codes to learn more about the new words in the book. Mr. Dishman will also collaborate with this school-wide project by planning special art lessons. We plan to finish the book before spring break and have a celebration assembly with the Virginia Wildlife Birds of Prey. Please ask your student about the book each day!
I hope you have a super weekend!
