1. We had a wonderful Earth Day celebration yesterday here at JWES. I hope your child came home and shared about what they did and what they learned. Thanks to Mrs. Susan Eckenrode and the Science Committee of teachers - and to all of the volunteers and staff who helped make it such a wonderful day.
2. Our end of year field days are just around the corner! Monday, June 6th will be PreK-2 from 9:00-11:00, and 3-5 will have their's on Tuesday, June 7th from 9:00-11:00. We need lots of volunteers to make the days successful. Please go to the following link to sign up: http://goo.gl/forms/Csf9ENxQFR
3. As some of you may know, our "Nurse Barb" recently was diagnosed with cancer. She is undergoing regular treatments. Soon she will lose her hair. In support of her, we are going to have a special hat day for all students, teachers, and staff (and parents if you come to school) on Wednesday, April 27th to show our solidarity with her. Children are also welcome to donate in $1 to the American Cancer Society for our Relay for Life team in her honor (this optional). If you would like to donate more, you are welcome to do so. If you would like to write a check, please make it payable to the American Cancer Society. We love our Nurse Barb, and we hope that everyone will participate to demonstrate our care and to show her our support. Nurse Barb gave permission for this information to be shared, and suggested you may even want to tell your children (if you wish).
